One of the objects of breaking down an English sentence, which is generally written laterally, and arranging and displaying vertically the sentence without changing the sequence of the words, symbols, numerals, etc., used in the sentence is to handle thereafter the sentence as a vertically read one. Therefore, this arrangement/display method must quite naturally consider ease-of-reading when the sentence is read vertically. This arrangement/display method arranges the center positions of the transverse widths of the words, symbols, numerals, etc., used in the sentence on each one vertical line for each column. Easier-to-reading feature of the vertical English sentence by this arrangement/display method will be evidenced by comparing it with a sentence not having the arrangement described above by using optical means.

A method of transmitting a telephone number in a wireless local loop (WLL) system is provided for allowing a user to instantly hear a ring back tone by immediately performing a dialing in a WLL terminal when a flash signal is input by the user operating a hook switch after a telephone number is dialed in an ordinary telephone connected to the WLL terminal. The method checks the state of a hook switch of the ordinary telephone connected to the WLL terminal. When an off-hook sate is determined, it is determined whether a telephone number is input. When it is determined that a telephone number is input, the telephone number is stored in a dial buffer. It is continuously checked whether a flash signal is input while the input telephone number is being stored in the dial buffer. When the flash signal is input, the telephone number stored in the dial buffer is transmitted to the WLL system base station.

A word breaker utilizing a lexicon module and a processing module to identify word breaks in a stream of Asian (e.g. Japanese, Chinese, or Korean) language text. The lexicon module is a dictionary or database containing words native to the language of the input text. The processing module includes a plurality of analysis modules which operate on the input text. In particular, the processing module can include modules that analyze the input text using heuristic rules and statistical analysis to identify a first set of word breaks, thereby reducing the size of segments with undefined word breaks. The processing module also includes a database analysis module that identifies the remaining undefined word breaks in those smaller segments that have undergone heuristic or statistical analysis.

This vaccine is characterised in that it also contains the following elements as antigens for an amount of 1 ml: an antigen of the hepatitis B virus (HBsAg) obtained by cultivating transformed cells from the strain S. cerevisiae VKPM Y-2203 in an amount of 5 to 10 μg; a purified diphtheric anatoxin which is rendered harmless in an amount of 10 to 20 Lf; a purified tetanic anatoxin which is rendered harmless in an amount of 5 to 10 EC; formaline-killed pertussis microbes in an amount of 10 to 15 OE; merthiolate in an amount of 0.01 ± 0.002 %; a hydroxide aluminium gel in an amount of 0.6 to 1.2 mg as converted into aluminium; and up to 1.0 ml of a pharmaceutically acceptable solvent. These preparations have a high seroconversion rate due to the mutual promoting action of the components used therein.

An extrudable material (1), such as a hot melt adhesive, is applied to a substrate (2) with simultaneous irradiation by a laser beam (9). The energy of the laser is absorbed by the adhesive and the substrate (2) to cause the adhesive to spread into the fabric. When applied to a gap (17) between two substrate sheets (2), the extrudable material creates a very strong bond. When one of the substrate materials (21) is porous, the extrudable material will penetrate the thickness of the material and contact a lower layer (19) to form a bond. The extrudable material is applied through a nozzle, and the laser beam (9) is directed through the nozzle to be coaxial with the flow path (11) of the extrudable material. The coaxial arrangement facilitates movement of the nozzle and beam in complicated patterns and ensures simultaneous application of the extrudable material (1) and the laser beam (9).

Specially modified JTAG test circuitry is used to provide test inputs and outputs for vendor supplied megacells (420) with buried I/Os within an integrated circuit chip. A multiplexer (460) or similar circuit is used to alternatively select between a JTAG boundary scan output or a megacell (420) circuit test output in response to JTAG instructions within an instruction register. Additionally, a multiplexer (440) or similar circuit is used to alternatively select between an input pin or normal circuitry for input to a megacell's buried input. Furthermore, an AND (455) or OR (457) gate is used to allow test inputs to a megacell, which are normally tied either high or low, to be controlled by an input pin when in the special JTAG test mode. In this manner, test vectors applied at test inputs to the megacell circuitry result in test outputs to the megacell circuitry being provided on output pins of the integrated circuit without requiring additional input and/or output pins that are solely operational as test inputs or outputs to the megacell circuitry.
