A robot vacuum cleaner which cleans while driving along a cleaning area and a remote controller which controls the robot vacuum cleaner are included. In a robot cleaning system the robot vacuum cleaner receives location information of the robot vacuum cleaner when the remote controller points to the robot vacuum cleaner and calculates the direction of the cleaning area and the distance to the cleaning area based on the location information of the robot vacuum cleaner and the cleaning area, and moves to the cleaning area and performs the cleaning. The robot cleaning system detects the location information of the robot vacuum cleaner and the cleaning area through the remote controller and calculates the movement direction from the robot vacuum cleaner to the cleaning area and the movement distance using the detected location information of the robot vacuum cleaner and the cleaning area so that a user can easily designate a cleaning area to which the robot vacuum cleaner moves. 청소영역을 주행하며 청소하는 로봇청소기, 원격에서 상기 로봇청소기를 제어하는 원격제어기를 포함하되, 상기 로봇청소기는 상기 원격제어기가 상기 로봇청소기를 가리키면 상기 로봇청소기의 위치 정보를 수신하고 상기 원격제어기가 상기 청소영역을 가리키면 상기 청소영역의 위치 정보를 수신하여, 상기 로봇청소기의 위지 정보 및 상기 청소영역의 위치 정보를 기초로 상기 청소영역의 방향 및 상기 청소영역까지의 거리를 산출하고 상기 청소영역으로 이동하여 청소를 수행하는 로봇청소시스템은 원격제어기를 통하여 로봇청소기의 위치 정보와 청소영역의 위치 정보를 검출하고, 검출된 로봇청소기의 위치 정보와 청소영역의 위치 정보를 이용하여 로봇청소기로부터 청소영역까지의 이동 방향과 이동 거리를 산출함으로써 사용자가 쉽게 로봇청소기가 이동할 청소영역을 지정할 수 있다.
