PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal polarizing filter device with a polarization sensor, capable of detecting properly the polarized direction of polarized light to be removed, and capable of removing surely the polarized light by a liquid crystal polarizing filter based thereon, by installing two kinds, namely, for a wide use and for a television use corresponding to a photographing angle of view, of polarized-light quantity sensors for detecting the polarized direction of the polarized light to be removed, and by switching and using the polarized- light quantity sensors for a wide use and for a television use corresponding to the photographing angle of view, in a liquid crystal polarizing filter device mounted on a lens device, such as a television camera or the like, for removing polarized light reflected on a window glass or the like.

SOLUTION: Polarized-light quantity sensors 36A-36D for a wide use and polarized-light quantity sensors 38A-38D for a television use, for detecting a polarized-light quantity in the polarized direction of 0, 45, 90, 135, are arranged on the front of a lens hood 16 of a lens device. The polarized-light quantity sensors for a wide use and for a television use are used by switching respectively corresponding to a photographing angle of view of the lens device.
