Provided are a signal transmission method and system, which are applied to the transmission of a test signal in an OTN. The signal transmission method comprises: acquiring a power compensation signal, and making the power compensation signal access a transmission channel for a test signal; monitoring the current power of a target signal in the transmission channel, wherein the target signal at least comprises the test signal; and adjusting a parameter of the power compensation signal according to the current power of the target signal, so as to keep the optical power of the transmission channel stable.
