IN THE CLAIMS

We claim:

1. A reticle comprising a first marking for a first projectile for zeroing the first projectile at a distance, a second marking for a second, different projectile for zeroing the second projectile at said distance, and an aiming point; wherein said first and second markings are positioned relative to one another such that said aiming point corresponds to a target range that is shared between the first and second projectiles.

2. The reticle of claim 1, comprising a first vertical cross-hair intersecting a first horizontal crosshair.

3. The reticle of claim 2, wherein said first and second markings are located on said first vertical cross-hair above an intersection of the first vertical cross hair and the first horizontal cross-hair.

4. The reticle of claim 3, wherein said aiming point is located on said first vertical cross-hair below the intersection of the first vertical cross-hair and the first horizontal cross-hair.

5. The reticle of any of claims 1-4, further comprising one or more additional aiming points corresponding to one or more additional target ranges shared between the first and second projectiles.

6. A reticle, comprising:

a) a first horizontal cross-hair;

b) a first vertical cross-hair that intersects said first horizontal cross-hair; c) an aiming point specific to a first projectile on said first vertical cross hair above said intersection of said first horizontal cross-hair and said first vertical cross-hair;

d) an aiming point specific to a second projectile on said first vertical cross-hair above said aiming point specific to said first projectile wherein said first projectile and said second projectile differ in one or more of caliber, ballistic coefficient, muzzle velocity, weight, manufacturer and construction; and

e) two or more aiming points on said first vertical cross-hair below said intersection of said first horizontal cross-hair and said first vertical cross-hair, wherein said two or more aiming points on said first vertical cross-hair below said intersection of said first horizontal cross-hair and said first vertical cross-hair are aiming points at predetermined target ranges that are shared between said first projectile and said second projectile.

7. The reticle of claim 6, wherein said aiming point specific to said first projectile on said first vertical cross-hair above said intersection of said first horizontal cross-hair and said first vertical cross-hair is an aiming point for a range of 100 yards or 100 meters to a target, said aiming point specific to a second projectile on said first vertical cross-hair above said aiming point specific to said first projectile is an aiming point for a range of 100 yards or 100 meters to a target.

8. The reticle of claim 7, wherein said intersection of said first horizontal cross-hair and said first vertical cross-hair is an aiming point for a range of 300 yards or 300 meters to a target.

9. The reticle of claim 8, wherein a first of said two or more aiming points on said first vertical cross-hair below said intersection of said first horizontal cross-hair and said first vertical cross-hair is an aiming point for a range of 400 yards or 400 meters to a target.

10. The reticle of claim 9, wherein a second of said two or more aiming points on said first vertical cross-hair below said first of said two or more aiming points is an aiming point for a range of 500 yards or 500 meters to a target.

11. The reticle of claim 10, wherein a third of said two or more aiming points on said first vertical cross-hair below said second of said two or more aiming points is an aiming point for a range of 600 yards or 600 meters to a target.

12. The reticle of any of claims 1-11, further comprising two or more lead markings.

13. The reticle of any of claims 1-12, further comprising range-finder markings.

14. The reticle of any of claims 1-13, further comprising a plurality of second horizontal cross-hairs intersecting the first vertical cross-hair below the first horizontal cross-hair.

15. The reticle of claim 14, wherein said plurality of second horizontal cross-hairs are evenly spaced relative to each other along said first vertical cross-hair.

16. The reticle of claim 14, further comprising a plurality of second vertical cross-hairs intersecting one or more of said second horizontal cross-hairs.

17. The reticle of any of claims 1-16, further comprising wind dots.

18. A target acquisition device comprising a reticle of any of claims 1-17.

19. The target acquisition device of claim 18, further comprising a housing, an objective lens mounted in one of said housing, and an ocular lens mounted in an opposite end of said housing.

20. A method of shooting at a target, comprising aiming a target acquisition device of claim 18 at a target and firing a first or second projectile.

21. The method of claim 20, wherein prior to firing a projectile, the target acquisition device is zeroed with said first or second projectile.

22. A method comprising manufacturing the reticle of any of claims 1-17.

23. The method of claim 22, wherein said manufacturing comprising placing aiming points and/or cross-hairs on said reticle.

24. A method of manufacturing a target acquisition device comprising installing a reticle of any of claims 1-17 into a housing.

25. A method for selecting a zero point for a target acquisition device comprising a reticle, said method comprising:

a) having a target acquisition device comprising a reticle, said reticle comprising:

i) a first horizontal cross-hair intersecting a first vertical cross hair; and

ii) a plurality of unevenly spaced second horizontal cross-hairs intersecting said first vertical cross-hair below said first horizontal cross-hair; and

b) using software to select a zero point on said first vertical cross-hair above said first horizonal cross-hair for a selected shooting caliber, wherein said software is configured to identify said zero point for a plurality of different calibers such that said plurality of unevenly spaced second horizontal cross-hairs provide accurate ballistic drop coefficient lines for hitting a target at a plurality of distances represented by said second horizontal cross-hairs.

26. The method of claim 25, wherein said reticle comprises a scale of zero range markings on said first vertical cross-hair above said first horizontal cross-hair.

27. A reticle comprising:

a) a first vertical cross-hair;

b) a first horizontal cross-hair intersecting said first vertical cross-hair; c) a plurality of second horizontal cross-hairs intersecting said first vertical cross-hair below said first horizontal cross-hair; d) a plurality of range markings, comprising indicia, positioned above or below said first vertical cross-hair at a plurality of defined distances, said indicia indicating a range to target when a target fills the space between an individual range marking and said first vertical cross-hair.

28. The reticle of claim 27, wherein said range markings comprise range bars.

29. The reticle of claim 27, wherein said indicia for an individual range marking is a number corresponding to one of said second horizontal cross-hairs.

30. The reticle of claim 27, further comprising a second set of range markings, said second set of range markings, comprising indicia, positioned above or below said first vertical cross-hair at a plurality of second defined distances, said indicia indicating a range to target when a target fills the space between an individual range marking and said first vertical cross-hair, wherein said second defined distances are different than said defined distances.
