A rotary valve is provided for use in highly corrosive and abrasive applications. The valve includes a valve body defining an inlet, an outlet, and a valve interior in fluid communication with the inlet and the outlet. The valve also includes a ball element disposed within the valve interior via a valve stem to control fluid flow through the valve, and a valve seat to sealingly engage the ball element. The ball element includes a body having an outside portion, a bore disposed through a center portion of the body, and at least one brace disposed between the bore and the outside portion to strengthen the ball element during highly corrosive and abrasive applications of the valve.

L'invention porte sur une vanne rotative utilisable dans des applications hautement corrosives et abrasives. La vanne comprend un corps de vanne définissant une entrée, une sortie et un intérieur de vanne en communication fluidique avec l'entrée et la sortie. La vanne comprend également un élément sphérique disposé dans l'intérieur de la vanne par l'intermédiaire d'une tige de vanne pour commander l'écoulement de fluide à travers la vanne, et un siège de vanne pour venir en prise de manière étanche avec l'élément sphérique. L'élément sphérique comprend un corps ayant une partie extérieure, un alésage disposé à travers une partie centrale du corps, et au moins une entretoise disposée entre l'alésage et la partie extérieure pour renforcer l'élément sphérique pendant des applications hautement corrosives et abrasives de la vanne.
