(EN) There is provided a system and method for interactive multi-player broadcast game, the system comprising a plurality of controllers; each controller capable of providing a set of game inputs to a game server in response to the broadcast; wherein the game server is operable to control game play and scoring; the game server further operable to either calculate or receive the latency data associated with each game controller depending on the type of controller and offset the latency during a time-sensitive game play. The above system allows different controllers to be used without biasing against relatively 'dumb' controllers such as the Plain Old Telephone (POT). Further, the above system allows massively multiplayer game to be played in the context of an interactive TV broadcast game with POT as controllers.
(FR) L'invention concerne un système et un procédé destinés à un jeu interactif diffusé multijoueurs, le système comprenant une pluralité d'organes de commande. Chaque organe de commande peut fournir un ensemble d'entrées de jeu à un serveur de jeu en réponse à la diffusion. Le serveur de jeu peut commander le jeu et le comptage des points, et peut en outre soit calculer, soit recevoir les données de latence associées à chaque organe de commande de jeu selon le type d'organe de commande, et décaler la latence pendant un jeu asservi au temps. Le système décrit permet d'utiliser différents organes de commande n'excluant pas des organes de commande relativement rudimentaires, tels que le téléphone traditionnel. De plus, ce système permet de jouer à des jeux impliquant un nombre massif de joueurs, dans le contexte d'un jeu télédiffusé interactif qui utilise le téléphone traditionnel comme organes de commande.
