WHAT IS CLAIMED IS:

1. A sealing arrangement for sealing of a flexible package, comprising a circumferential sealing device (25) which is connectable about an opening in the package, an openable access device (3) which is disposed for insertion in the opening of the package and the sealing device (25) is disposed about the access device (3) for urging of the package against the access device (3), the sealing device (25) comprising two shanks (2) with a hinge device (8) at one end of the shanks (2) and an openable locking device (5) at their other end, so that there is an interspace between the outside of the access device (3) and the shanks (2) in the open position of the sealing device (25), along the entire circumference of the access device (3), the extent of the interspace along the outside of the access device (3) being at least of the same order of magnitude as the width of the shanks (2), so that an opening in the package is insertable in the interspace and clampable when the sealing device (25) is closed, and the access device (3) has an anchorage against a portion of the sealing device (25) in association with the hinge device (8), characterised in that the hinge device (8) includes two upper hinge members (13, 14) on either side of the anchorage and a further two lower hinge members (17, 18) in that portion of the shanks (2) which defines the interspace between the shanks (2) and the outside of the access device (3).

2. The sealing arrangement as claimed in Claim 1, characterised in that the upper hinge members (13, 14) are disposed with a mutual spacing which is smaller than the mutual distance between the lower hinge members (17, 18) so that the portion between the lower hinge members (17, 18) is separated from the outside of the access device (3) on opening of the sealing device (25).

3. The sealing arrangement as claimed in Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the access device (3) is tubular and that the inside of the shanks (2) has a configuration which approximates the configuration of the outside of the access device (3).

4. The sealing arrangement as claimed in any of Claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the access device (3) and the shanks (2), respectively, are manufactured in two parts which are retro-assembled.

5. The sealing arrangement as claimed in any of Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the access device (3) and the shanks (2), respectively, are manufactured from two different materials.

6. The sealing arrangement as claimed in any of Claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the access device (3) has a snap-action lid (4).
