A constant velocity joint assembly and a method of securing a shaft to the assembly are described. The assembly may have an outer race with a first portion having a plurality of grooves and a second portion that extends from the first portion and is substantially parallel to the shaft. The method of securing the shaft to the assembly includes the step of magnetically pulse welding the shaft to the outer race.

L'invention concerne un ensemble joint homocinétique et un procédé de fixation d'un arbre à cet ensemble. Ledit ensemble peut avoir un chemin de roulement externe avec une première partie présentant plusieurs rainures et une seconde partie qui s'étend de la première partie et qui est sensiblement parallèle à l'arbre. Le procédé de fixation de l'arbre à l'ensemble comporte l'étape de soudage par impulsion magnétique de l'arbre au chemin de roulement externe.
