A system and method for transcoding data, such as an audiovisual program, audio data or video data, from a first format to a second format. Systems may accept a first data file and transcode it to create a second data file in a different format. Transcoding may occur at a time other than the time at which the system receives the data file. The later transcoding time may be user-selected. The system may generate an icon or other indicator to signify the data has been marked for later transcoding.

L’invention concerne un système et un procédé de transcodage de données, telles qu’un programme audiovisuel, des données audio ou des données vidéo, d’un premier format à un deuxième format. Des systèmes peuvent accepter un premier fichier de données et le transcoder pour créer un deuxième fichier de données dans un format différent. Le transcodage peut avoir lieu à un instant différent de celui auquel le système reçoit le fichier de données. Une période de transcodage ultérieure peut être sélectionnée par l'utilisateur. Le système peut générer une icône ou un autre indicateur pour signaler que les données ont été marquées pour un transcodage ultérieur.
