Disclosed are methods relating to cell membrane fragments associated with microbeads, so that the characteristics of the cells the fragments originated from can be determined. The fragments can be oriented with what was the outer surface of the cell membrane facing outwardly, so that the antigens associated with the membrane can be contact with ligands (including antibodies) to antigens in the membranes which would be accessible to antibodies in vivo. The system is useful, inter alia, for detection of panel reactive antibodies in donor serum, as well as detection of other cell membrane antigens; or quantitation of particular cell membrane antigens.

La présente invention se rapporte à des procédés relatifs à des fragments de membrane cellulaire associés à des microbilles, qui permettent de déterminer les caractéristiques des cellules dont sont issus les fragments. Les fragments peuvent être orientés de manière que ce qui formait la surface externe de la membrane cellulaire soit orienté vers l'extérieur, afin que les antigènes associés à la membrane puissent être mis en contact avec des ligands (notamment des anticorps) pour des antigènes contenus dans les membranes qui seraient accessibles aux anticorps in vivo. Le système selon l'invention est utile, entre autres, pour détecter des allo-anticorps dans le sérum d'un donneur, ainsi que pour détecter d'autres antigènes de membrane cellulaire, ou pour quantifier des antigènes de membrane cellulaire particuliers.
