The promoter regions associated with the Yarrowia lipolytica glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (gpd) and phosphoglycerate mutase (gpm) genes have been found to be particularly effective for the expression of heterologous genes in oleaginous yeast. The promoter regions of the invention have been shown to drive high-level expression of genes involved in the production of &ohgr;-3 and &ohgr;-6 fatty acids.

On a découvert que les régions promotrices associée aux gènes de la glycéraldéhyde-3-phosphate déhydrogénase (gpd) et de la phosphoglycérate mutase (gpm) de Yarrowia lipolytica sont particulièrement efficaces pour l'expression de gènes hétérologues dans de la levure oléagineuse. Les régions promotrices selon l'invention se sont avérées entraîner l'expression, à un haut niveau, de gènes impliqués dans la production d'acides gras ?-3 et ?-6.
