The invention is a device for providing a clamping force about a connection end of elastomeric hose (14) and tubing. The device includes a heat shrinkable polymer, having a diameter reducing release temperature, formed into a band. The band has a first nominal inside diameter defined as the diameter of the band assumes upon being shrunk in free space and being smaller than the outside diameter of the connection end of the elastomeric hose and tubing (14). The band has a second nominal inside diameter (B) defined as the diameter of the band assumes upon being shrunk about the connection end of the elastomeric hose and tubing. The band also has a third nominal inside diameter (A) defined as the diameter of the band after polymer orientation and before shrinkage, the third diameter (A) being greater than the outside diameter of the connection end of the elastomeric hose and tubing (14). The first inside diameter is no greater than about 80 percent of the third inside diameter (A).

L'invention se rapporte à un dispositif permettant de produire une force de serrage sur un raccord d'extrémité de tuyau (14) et de tubulure élastomères. Ledit dispositif se compose d'une bande polymère thermorétractable, présentant une température de relaxation réductrice de diamètre. Cette bande a un premier diamètre nominal intérieur qui se définit comme le diamètre de la bande après rétrécissement dans un espace libre, ledit premier diamètre étant inférieur au diamètre extérieur du raccord d'extrémité du tuyau et de la tubulure élastomères (14). La bande a un second diamètre nominal intérieur (B) défini comme le diamètre de la bande après retrait sur l'extrémité de raccord du tuyau et de la tubulure élastomères. Ladite bande a également un troisième diamètre nominal intérieur (A) défini comme le diamètre de la bande après orientation et avant retrait du polymère, le troisième diamètre (A) étant supérieur au diamètre extérieur de l'extrémité de raccord du tuyau et de la tubulure élastomères (14). Le premier diamètre intérieur est inférieur ou égal à 80 % du troisième diamètre intérieur.
