A durable energy-conserving window glass (50) is produced with very low scattering of visible light. A typical structure (100) consists of soda-lime glass (50) coated successively with alumina, then fluorine-doped tin oxide (60) and finally with bismuth silicate glass (90). The whole structure (100) is heated so that the bismuth silicate glass (90) softens and flows to form a smooth surface.

Vitre durable (50) assurant une économie d'énergie et présentant une très faible dispersion de la lumière visible. Une structure type (100) est constituée de verre à base de soude et de chaux (50) revêtu d'abord d'alumine, puis d'oxyde stannique dopé au fluor (60), et enfin de verre au silicate de bismuth (90). On chauffe l'ensemble de la structure (100) pour ramollir le verre au silicate de bismuth (90), lequel devient coulant et forme une surface lisse.
