orally or enterally administering to a mammal in need of such treatment an i mune εuppreεεive effective amount of an agent specific for εuppressing εaid immune reεponεe.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein εaid agent iε a member selected from the group consisting of εplenocytes from εaid donor, splenic extractε from εaid donor, cultured lym- phoσyteε from said donor, extracts of εaid cultured lym- phocytes, MHC antigens from εaid donor, diεeaεe εuppresεive fragmentε of εaid MHC antigens and analogs thereof from εaid donor.

3. A pharmaceutical formulation for administration t a recipient mammal about to undergo or having undergone tranεplant εurgery from a donor mammal, compriεing:
an oral doεage form containing an effective amoun for εuppreεεing tranεplantation rejection of an agent selected from the group conεiεting of εplenic tiεεue from εaid donor, extractε of εaid εplenic tiεεue, cultured lymphocytes from sai donor, extracts of εaid cultered lymphocyteε, transplantation MHC antigenε from εaid donor, diεeaεe εuppressive fragments of ' εaid MHC antigens and analogs thereof.

4. The pharmaceutical formulation of claim 3 wherein said oral doεage form is a solid dosage form selected from the group consiεting of a tablet, a capsule and a caplet.

5. The pharmaceutical formulation of claim 3 wherein the oral dosage form comprises an aqueous suspenεion solution.

6. The pharmaceutical formulation of claim 3 compris- ing a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent.

7. A method for suppreεsing the immune responεe of a recipient mammal to the introduction of a donor'ε foreign tiεεue compriεing:
aerosol administering to a mammal in need of such treatment an immune εuppressive effective amount of an agent selected from the group consisting of εplenocyteε from εaid donor, splenic extractε from εaid donor, cultured lymphocytes from said donor, extracts of said cultured lymphocytes, MHC antigens from εaid donor, diseaεe εuppreεεive fragmentε of MHC antigens and analogs thereof.

8. A pharmaceutical formulation for administration to a recipient mammal about to undergo or having undergone
transplant surgery from a donor mammal, comprising:
an aerosol' dosage form containing an effective amount for suppresεing transplantation rejection of an agent selected from the group consiεting of εplenic tiεεue from εaid donor, extractε of εaid εplenic tissue, cultured lymphocytes from said donor, extractε of εaid cultured lymphocyteε, tranεplantation MHC antigenε from said donor, disease suppres εive fragments of said MHC antigens and analogs thereof.

9. The pharmaceutical formulation of claim 8 where the aeroεol doεage form comprises an aqueous εuspenεion εolution.

10. The pharmaceutical formulation of claim 8 compr ing a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent.

11. A method for εuppreεεing graft rejection in a mammal compriεing adminiεtering to a mammal in need of such treatment an effective amount of an agent which εpecifically εuppreεses εaid mammalε immune reεponse directed againεt εai graft.

12. An oral doεage form for adminiεtration to a mam comprising a compoεition containing an agent that εpecifical suppresεeε εaid mammal'ε immune reεponεe directed against a transplanted organ or tissue.

13. A dosage form for administration to a mammal vi the oral cavity comprising a composition containing an agent which εpecifically εuppresεeε εaid mammal's immune reεponεe directed againεt a transplanted organ or tisεue.
