The present invention relates to an apparatus for classifying home appliances by using power data analysis and a method thereof, which analyze power data collected from a customer and extract an impedance component of power to classify home appliances. The apparatus for classifying home appliances by using power data analysis comprises: a power consumption data detection unit for detecting power consumption data; a frequency component extraction unit for receiving the power consumption data by a stream and separately extracting a low frequency component and a high frequency component; a low frequency component analysis data output unit for outputting power amount data from the low frequency component and outputting power analysis data using progress of corresponding data; a high frequency component analysis data output unit for outputting phase angle data from the high frequency component and outputting frequency analysis data from the high frequency component; and an impedance modeling unit for performing impedance modeling based on changes in a current amount and changes in a phase angle and performing home appliance classification using the impedance modeling. 본 발명은 수용가에서 수집되는 전력 데이터를 분석하여 전력의 임피던스 성분을 추출하여 가전기기를 분류하는 전력 데이터 분석을 이용한 가전기기 분류를 위한 장치 및 방법에 관한 것으로, 소비 전력 데이터를 검출하는 소비전력 데이터 검출부;소비 전력 데이터를 스트림으로 입력받아 저주파 성분 및 고주파 성분을 분리 추출하는 주파수 성분 추출부;저주파 성분으로부터 전력량 데이터를 출력하고, 해당 데이터의 추이를 이용한 전력 분석 데이터를 출력하는 저주파 성분 분석 데이터 출력부;고주파 성분으로부터 위상각 데이터를 출력하고, 고주파 성분으로부터 주파수 분석 데이터를 출력하는 고주파 성분 분석 데이터 출력부;전류량의 변화와 위상각의 변화를 기준으로 임피던스 모델링을 하고 이를 이용한 가전 기기 분류를 하는 임피던스 모델링부;를 포함하는 것이다.
