PURPOSE: A method is provided for the biological treatment of a spent caustic solution containing sulphides, and for the biological treatment of an aqueous solution containing sulphides and/or mercaptans in an aerobic reactor.

CONSTITUTION: The solution is introduced into an aerobic reactor containing sulphide oxidizing bacteria, and the sulphides are partly converted to elemental sulphur and partly to sulphate by controlling the redox potential in the reactor at a value below -300 mV (against an Ag/AgCl reference electrode), or below -97 (against an H2 reference electrode). The solution is treated in the presence of bacteria of the new species Methylophaga sulfidovorans.

(KO) 본 발명은 황화물을 함유하는 소모된 부식제 용액의 생물학적 처리 방법을 제공한다. 상기 방법에 있어서, 상기 용액을 황화물 산화성 박테리아를 함유하는 호기성 반응기 내로 유입하고, 상기 황화물은 반응기에서 산화 환원 전위 값을 -300 mV(Ag│AgCl 기준 전극에 대한 것임) 이하 또는 -97 mV(H기준 전극에 대한 것임) 이하로 조절함으로써, 일부를 황 원소로 전환시키고, 일부를 황산염으로 전환시킨다. 또한, 본 발명은 호기성 반응기에서 황화물 및/또는 머캡탄을 함유하는 수용액을 생물학적으로 처리하는 방법을 제공한다. 상기 방법에 있어서, 상기 수용액은 신규한 메틸로파가 설피도보란스종의 박테리아의 존재하에서 처리한다. 2
