In an electric discharge tube, an electrically conductive fitting (50) having a body (51) and an electrically conductive section (57) are arranged at an end of a glass tube (40). The body (51) has a contact section (52) electrically conductively attached to a relay connector (support means) and assembled to the outer periphery of the glass tube (40). The electrically conductive section (57) is extended from the body (51) and is in elastic contact with an outer lead (42). No load caused by the weight of the discharge tube (15) acts on the outer lead (42), and only the electrically conductive section (57) is in contact with the outer lead (42) in an elastic manner. 유리관(40)의 단부에는, 중계 커넥터(14)(지지 수단)에 대해 전기적 도통이 가능하게 장착되는 접촉부(52)를 구비하고 유리관(40)의 외주에 조립되는 본체(51)와, 본체(51)로부터 연장되어 외부 리드(42)에 대해 탄성적으로 접촉하는 도전편(57)을 구비한 도전성 페룰(50)이 장착된다. 외부 리드(42)에는 방전관(15)의 중량에 기인하는 부하가 가해지지 않고 도전편(57)이 탄성적으로 접촉할 뿐이므로, 외부 리드(42)에서의 응력의 집중을 회피할 수 있다.
