本発明は、多重層位相変化型光学ディスク(10)のフォーマット及び記録のための方法及び記録装置に関する。この方法は、例えば、所定のシーケンスに従って、光学ディスク(10)の第1層(12)及び第2層(18)上の領域を記録することを含み、従って、投射放射ビーム(16)が通過する第1層(12)の領域が常に書き込まれるか、第2層(18)への書込の際、第1層(12)に由来する投射放射ビーム(16)の干渉を阻止すべく、第2層(18)への記録の際、完全に空になっていることを確実にしている。
