PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically adjust the image quality of image data without impairing arbitrarily set output conditions.

SOLUTION: When a memory card MC is inserted into a slot 34, the control circuit 30 of a color printer 20 acquires image output control information GI from the card MC and analyzes the information GI. When an exposure correction amount other than zero is set, a CPU 31 corrects a standard brightness value Bstd to a brightness parameter by reflecting the set exposure correction amount in the parameter. The CPU 31 finds a corrected brightness level Brev by correcting a representative brightness value Brep so as to bring the value Brep nearer to the standard brightness value Bstd and adjusts the image quality of the image data by reflecting the corrected brightness level Brev in the quality.
