The present invention relates to a tool head intended for use in machine tools including a base body (10), a tool shank (28) being adapted to be coupled to a machine spindle and protruding axially over the base body( 10), at least one working slide (16) adapted to be displaced essentially transversely with respect to the base body (10) axis (12) and being arranged inside the tool shank (28) and being provided with tool bed (14) protruding from the face thereof, wherein in the base body (10) there is disposed an adjusting motor (24) being coupled through the mediation of a reduction (22) with working slide (16) and being provided with an output shaft (72) rotating concentrically with said base body (10) axis (12). The adjusting motor (24) is provided with a drive sprocket (74) being in engagement with a tooth rack (68) of the working slide (16). In said base body (10) there is further arranged a compensation slide (18) that slides in opposite direction with respect to said working slide (16) through the mediation of its tooth rack (70), being in engagement with the drive sprocket (74). Both the working slide (16) and the compensation slide (18) are separated in axial direction from each other by an intermediates space (66) in which the reach the tooth racks (68, 70) of the working slide (16) and the compensation slide (18) and also the drive sprocket (74) that is arranged at free end of the output shaft (72).
