Therefore, it is possible to verify special situations, such as when new product determination information can be obtained from the first protrusion 521, regardless of whether new product determination information has already been stored in the cartridge IC 62. As a consequence, it is possible to appropriately manage the service life of the developer cartridge 1.

Accordingly, the contact state of the electrical contact surface can be maintained and the position of the case 10 changed, during a separation operation after the developing cartridge 1 has been attached. Rubbing of the electrical contact surface can be reduced as a result.
