The angle of incidence of the scoop on the ground may be varied by simply rotating the scoop relative to the arm, whereby said scoop is alternately used like a ploughshare or placed vertically, and adapts to the various stages of the user's movement as well as to different soils. Once the tub is full, the user crouches behind it, knees apart, then lifts it up and tips the contents into a wheelbarrow. If no wheelbarrow is available, the tub may also be rotated through a quarter of a turn and carried on the user's head. Muscle power is thus used more efficiently and said device requires less work and causes less back strain than conventional shovels.
