Das Ende der Verdichtungszone ist durch eine Klemmwalze (19) begrenzt, die den Faserverband und das Transportband an die Gleitfläche (13) andrückt. Die Umlenkrolle ist im Bereich der angetriebenen Unterwalze (7) des Ausgangswalzenpaares (7, 8) des Streckwerks angeordnet und bildet mit dieser einen Keilspalt. Eine Zwischenspalte liegt im Keilspalt (29) sowohl an der Unterwalze als auch an der Umlenkrolle an und treibt so das Transportband an.
