A liquid level indicator to determine the volume content of liquid in vessels such as underground fuel. The device consists of a transparent tube (1), preferably graduated (2), and equipped with a valve (3) at the bottom end of the tube. If the instrument is placed vertically into the vessel (6), with liquid (4), the liquid pushes up into the tube if the valve (3) is open. When reaching equilibrium, the liquid leve (5') in the tube equals the liquid level (5) in the vessel. The exit of liquid from the tube (1) when lifted can be prevented wi th the valve (3) that close prior to lifting or at the moment the instrument is lifted. Thus the liquid level remains unchanged in the tube (1). The volume content of liquid can either be calculated using the height of liquid in the tube or read of directly against the correctly marked increments (2).

A front access means (1) for mounting ceiling, panelling and cladding boards comprises an elongate base strip (2) of a cross sectional shape which has a flange or flanges (4, 5) and a gripping formation or formations (6, 7), together with an elongate cover strip (8) again of a cross sectional shape which has a connecting formation or formations (9) adapted to co-act with the gripping formation (6, 7) for connection of the cover strip to the base strip. A tool is provided for removing cover strips if it is required to remove an installed board. The front access means is best used for all types of ceiling board installations, in particular with a new light weight ceiling board, made of double wall corrugated board from virgin liner and fluting, sealed with a special sealer on both sides and pre-coloured. This board is much lighter and a much better heat insulator than conventional boards. A saving of total installation cost, including the labour component, of between 40% and 50% is obtained, using the invention.

This invention provides a corrosion inhibitor for iron-based metals including a solution of a polysaccharide biopolymer, or a precursor or derivative thereof, in a solvent. The polysaccharide biopolymer is preferably chitosan, which is obtained from deacetylated chitin. This invention further provides a method of inhibiting corrosion of iron-based metals and a method of manufacturing a corrosion inhibitor including the steps of providing chitin; at least partially deacetylating the chitin to obtain chitosan; and dissolving the chitosan in a solvent. The corrosion inhibitor according to the invention provides a relatively cheap and environmentally friendly and non-toxic corrosion inhibitor suitable for protecting iron-based metals against corrosion damage by aqueous solutions, or to minimise such problems to an appreciable extent.

According to the invention there is provided a ceiling board (10) which comprises first and second corrugated sheets (12 and 14) sandwiched between first, second and third flat sheets (16, 18, and 20) respectively, all of virgin paper. The first flat sheet (16) has a weight of 250 g/m², the two corrugated sheets (12 and 14) a weight of 160 g/m², and the second and third flat sheets (18 and 20) a weight of 225 g/m². A sealing layer (22) having a weight of at least 8 g/m² is applied to the exposed outer surfaces of the first and third flat sheets (16 and 20), to cover 70% thereof. The total weight of the ceiling board is therefore in the order of 1.034 kg/m². Due to the light weight of the ceiling board (10), the transport and installation cost thereof is relatively lower than that of conventional ceilings.
