Claims

1. A high-pressure fuel pump, comprising:
a pump housing having a housing wall; and
a damping device configured to damp inlet-side pressure pulses by varying a damping volume with an elastically movable wall,
wherein at least one section of the elastically movable wall is formed by one or more of at least one part of a jacket-like region of the housing wall and at least one part of a seal support, the section configured to contribute predominantly to the variation in the damping volume.
2. The high-pressure fuel injection pump as claimed in claim 1, wherein the damping volume has a volume of 60 cm 3 to 140 cm 3 in an unpressurized state of rest and the housing wall has a wall thickness of 0.8 mm to 2 mm.
3. The high-pressure fuel injection pump as claimed in claim 1, wherein the jacket-like region of the housing wall has a corrugated section.
4. The high-pressure fuel injection pump as claimed in claim 1, wherein one or more of the housing wall and the seal support include one or more of plastic and steel sheet.
5. The high-pressure fuel injection pump as claimed in claim 1, wherein one or more of the part of the jacket-like region of the housing wall and the part of the seal support that forms the movable wall is rotationally symmetrical.
6. The high-pressure fuel injection pump as claimed in claim 1, wherein the pump housing has a connection device configured to connect to a low-pressure line of a fuel system.
7. The high-pressure fuel injection pump as claim in claim 1, wherein the damping volume has a volume of 80 cm 3 to 120 cm 3 in an unpressurized state of rest and the housing wall has a wall thickness of 1 mm to 1.7 mm.
8. The high-pressure fuel injection pump as claim in claim 7, wherein the wall thickness is 1.2 mm to 1.5 mm.
