Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a lithium-ion battery negative electrode which exhibits excellent cycling properties and energy density, and little change in volume when charging. [Solution] A lithium-ion battery negative electrode having a negative electrode active material layer, the lithium-ion battery negative electrode being characterized in that: the negative electrode active material layer thereof comprises an unbonded body of a mixture containing silicon and/or silicon compound particles and carbon-based negative electrode active material particles; the volume average particle diameter of the silicon and/or silicon compound particles is 0.01-10μm; the volume average particle diameter of the carbon-based negative electrode active material particles is 15-50μm; and the mass mixture ratio of the total of the silicon and silicon compound particles contained in the mixture to the carbon-based negative electrode active material particles is 5:95 to 45:55.
