Title: USE OF A DOUBLE-STRANDED RIBONUCLEIC ACID FOR SPECIFICALLY INHIBITING THE EXPRESSION OF A GIVEN TARGET GENE
Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of a double-stranded ribonucleic acid (dsRNA) for specifically inhibiting the expression in a cell of a given target gene that has a point mutation as compared to an original gene. A strand S1 of said dsRNA has a region that is complementary to the target gene in which at least one nucleotide is not complementary to the target gene and at least one nucleotide more is not complementary to the original gene than is not complementary to the target gene.
