Beschrieben wird ein Verfahren zur Hydrierung organischer Verbindungen, wobei ein eine hydrierbare organische Verbindung enthaltender flüssiger Zulauf in Rieselfahrweise in Gegenwart eines Hydrierkatalysators nacheinander in einem ersten Hydrierreaktor und einem zweiten Hydrierreaktor mit Wasserstoff in Kontakt gebracht wird, wobei DOLLAR A (a) der zweite Hydrierreaktor ein erstes, ein Bett eines Hydrierkatalysators enthaltendes Kompartiment und ein zweites, katalysatorfreies Kompartiment zur Aufnahme eines Flüssigphasenvolumens aufweist, DOLLAR A (b) das erste und das zweite Kompartiment wärmeleitend miteinander verbunden sind und das zweite Kompartiment über einen Überlauf mit dem ersten Kompartiment flüssigkeitsdurchgängig verbunden ist, DOLLAR A (c) die Flüssigphase des Austrags aus dem ersten Hydrierreaktor in das zweite Kompartiment geleitet wird und DOLLAR A (d) ein die hydrierte organische Verbindung enthaltender Strom aus dem ersten Kompartiment abgezogen wird.

The hydrogenation of organic compounds comprises passing a liquid feed through first and second reactors in series and bringing into contact with hydrogen in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst. The second hydrogenation reactor comprises a first compartment containing a catalyst bed and a second catalyst-free compartment for the removal of a liquid volume. The hydrogenation of organic compounds comprises passing a liquid feed containing a hydrogenatable organic compound through first and second reactors in series and bringing into contact with hydrogen in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst. The second hydrogenation reactor comprises a first compartment containing a catalyst bed and a second catalyst-free compartment for the removal of a liquid volume. The first and second compartments are thermally connected and the liquid flows from the first compartment to the second compartment via a overflow. The liquid phase is passed from the outlet of the first reactor to the second compartment. A hydrogenated organic compound-containing stream is removed from the first compartment. An Independent claim is included for a vertical tubular reactor (4) comprising a concentric cylinder open at its upper end forming a first compartment (5) for the uptake of a catalyst bed and a second compartment (6) as a ring-shaped cavity between the first compartment and the reactor wall for the uptake of a liquid phase volume as well as a device for removing a stream from the first compartment.
