(EN) A vessel puncture closure device and assembly for sealing a vessel puncture in a patient includes a unitary T-shaped puncture sealant, including a planar base hingedly connected to a planar post prior to delivery in the patient, including at least one puncture tract retainment member. The puncture sealant is formed from a planar elongate sheet of foldably bonded biocompatible material, such as ECM sheet material. A bioabsorbable suture attachably extends from the post. The base includes two legs projecting in opposite directions from a proximal end of the post. Each of the base and post comprises a planar elongate structure having a rectangular or obround shape. The base is configured to seal the vessel puncture, while allowing fluid flow through a blood vessel following deployment. The puncture tract retainment member is configured to prevent re¬ entry of the post into a blood vessel lumen and facilitate the seating of the base against the inside wall of the vessel following deployment.
