The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a liquid crystalline polyurethane elastomer which has a low liquid crystal-developing temperature and can exhibit rubbery elasticity when a liquid crystal is developed therein; and a method for producing the liquid crystalline polyurethane elastomer. The liquid crystalline polyurethane elastomer according to the present invention is characterized by being produced by reacting at least an isocyanate component, a high-molecular-weight polyol component and a mesogenic diol represented by general formula (1) with one another, and is also characterized by having a crosslinking site that is introduced by a tri-functional or higher isocyanate in the isocyanate component and/or a high-molecular-weight polyol, which has a number average molecular weight of 400 or more and less than 7000 and has three or more hydroxy groups, in the high-molecular-weight polyol component, wherein the melting point of a mesogenic unit does not exist in a temperature range lying between the glass transition temperature (Tg) and the (liquid crystal phase)-to-(isotropic phase) transition temperature (Ti) of the polyurethane elastomer, and a liquid crystal is developed at a temperature between the Tg and the Ti. (In the formula, X represents an alkylene group having 3 to 20 carbon atoms; and Y represents a single bond, -N=N-, -CO-, -CO-O- or -CH=N-.)

La présente invention vise à fournir un élastomère de polyuréthane cristallin liquide qui a une faible température de développement du cristal liquide et qui peut présenter une élasticité de type caoutchouc quand un cristal liquide s'y développe ; et un procédé de production de l'élastomère de polyuréthane cristallin liquide. L'élastomère de polyuréthane cristallin liquide selon la présente invention est caractérisé en ce qu'il est produit par la réaction, les uns avec les autres, d'au moins un composant isocyanate, d'un composant polyol à grande masse moléculaire et d'un diol mésogène représenté par la formule générale (1), et est aussi caractérisé en ce qu'il possède un site de réticulation qui est introduit par un isocyanate trifonctionnel ou à fonctionnalité plus élevée dans le composant isocyanate et/ou dans le polyol à grande masse moléculaire, qui a une masse moléculaire moyenne en nombre de 400 ou plus et inférieure à 7000 et possède trois groupes hydroxy ou plus, dans le composant polyol à grande masse moléculaire, le point de fusion d'une unité mésogène n'existant pas dans une plage de températures comprise entre la température de transition vitreuse (Tg) et la température de transition (phase cristal liquide)-à-(phase isotrope) (Ti) de l'élastomère de polyuréthanne, un cristal liquide se développant à une température comprise entre la Tg et la Ti.  本発明は、液晶が発現する温度が低く、しかも液晶発現時にゴム弾性を有する液晶ポリウレタンエラストマー及びその製造方法を提供することを目的とする。本発明の液晶ポリウレタンエラストマーは、少なくともイソシアネート成分、高分子量ポリオール成分、及び下記一般式(1)で表されるメソゲンジオールを反応させて得られ、イソシアネート成分中の3官能以上のイソシアネート及び/又は高分子量ポリオール成分中の数平均分子量400以上7000未満かつ水酸基数3以上の高分子量ポリオールによって架橋点を有しており、ガラス転移温度(Tg)と液晶相から等方相への転移温度(Ti)との温度間にメソゲンの融点が存在せず、TgからTiの温度間で液晶が発現することを特徴とする。 (式中、Xは炭素数3~20のアルキレン基であり、Yは単結合、-N=N-、-CO-、-CO-O-、又は-CH=N-である。)
