 This transport vehicle comprises: a vehicle; an object detection device having a detection area in front of the vehicle, and which detects objects to the front of the vehicle; a processing system which can perform processing to reduce damage caused by collisions; a specific detection region setting unit which sets, in the detection region, a specific detection region having a width first dimension in the width direction of the vehicle and a length second dimension in the direction of travel of the vehicle; a collision determination unit which determines whether an object is present in the specific detection region, on the basis of the detection results of the object detection device; and a control unit which outputs a signal for reducing damage caused by collisions to the processing system, on the basis of the determination results from the collision determination unit.
