A photoelectric conversion element which is characterized by comprising: a photoelectrode which is obtained by forming a semiconductor layer on a first electrode substrate; a counter electrode which is provided with a second electrode substrate that is arranged so as to face the first electrode substrate; a sealing material which seals the space between the photoelectrode and the counter electrode; and an electrolyte which is arranged inside the sealing material. The photoelectric conversion element is also characterized in that: the first electrode substrate and/or the second electrode substrate is provided with a space expanding wall part which expands the separation distance between the surface of the first electrode substrate and the surface of the second electrode substrate facing each other, so that an expanded space is formed inside the sealing material; the electrolyte is held between the first electrode substrate and the second electrode substrate within the expanded space; and the sealing material is provided with a non-contact part that is not in contact with the electrolyte.

L’invention porte sur un élément de conversion photo-électrique qui est caractérisé par le fait qu’il comporte : une photo-électrode qui est obtenue par formation d’une couche de semi-conducteur sur un premier substrat d’électrode ; une contre-électrode qui comprend un second substrat d’électrode qui est disposé de façon à faire face au premier substrat d’électrode ; un matériau d’étanchéité qui scelle de manière étanche l’espace entre la photo-électrode et la contre-électrode ; un électrolyte qui est disposé à l’intérieur du matériau d’étanchéité. L’élément de conversion photo-électrique est également caractérisé par ce qui suit : le premier substrat d’électrode et/ou le second substrat d’électrode est pourvu d'une partie de paroi d’extension d’espace qui étend la distance de séparation entre la surface du premier substrat d’électrode et la surface du second substrat d’électrode tournées l’une vers l’autre, afin qu’un espace étendu soit formé à l’intérieur du matériau d’étanchéité ; l’électrolyte est conservé entre le premier substrat d’électrode et le second substrat d’électrode à l’intérieur de l’espace étendu ; le matériau d’étanchéité est pourvu d'une partie de non-contact qui n’est pas en contact avec l’électrolyte.
