An induction heating cooker (20) has: a top plate (23) having a cooking container (22) placed thereon; a heating coil (24) that is provided below the top plate (23); an insulating plate (25) having the heating coil (24) placed thereon; a ferrite (26) having the insulating plate (25) placed thereon; a metallic magnetism shielding plate (27) having the ferrite (26) placed thereon; an infrared ray sensor (29), which is provided below the magnetism shielding plate (27), and which detects infrared rays radiated from the cooking container (22); a casing (30), which is formed of a conductive material, and which is provided with a side wall section (30a) that stands upward from a bottom section (30b) positioned below the infrared ray sensor (29) such that at least the bottom section (30b) and the infrared ray sensor (29) are surrounded by the side wall section; and a spacer (31), which is disposed between a lower surface of the magnetism shielding plate (27) and an upper end of the casing (30) by being in contact with the lower surface and the upper end, and which is formed of a material that is provided with electrical insulation properties.
