The side direction obstacle detection unit (19c) divides the range from the side direction to the rear direction of a vehicle (1) into a plurality of detection angle areas (KR1-KR7), and detects, for each detection angle area (KR1-KR7), an obstacle (61) that enters the plurality of detection angle areas (KR1-KR7), and the distance to the obstacle (61). The rear direction movement preparation detection unit (9) detects preparation by the vehicle (1) for movement in the rear direction. The warning unit provides a warning about the obstacle (61) detected by the side direction obstacle detection unit (19c). The suppression unit (2) suppresses the warning by the warning unit, if the rear direction movement preparation detection unit (9) has detected preparation by the vehicle (1) for movement in the rear direction and the detection angle region wherein the obstacle (61) is detected moves from the rear direction side to the side direction side.
