Provided is an impact resistant member which is light in weight and has a high degree of freedom of shape and excellent impact resistance. An impact resistant member which is composed of a part having an open cross-sectional shape and a rib part that is arranged inside the part having an open cross-sectional shape. At least one of the part having an open cross-sectional shape and the rib part is formed of a carbon fiber-reinforced composite material that contains a thermoplastic resin, and the other may be formed of a thermoplastic resin. This impact resistant member is characterized in that: the abundance of thermoplastic resin(s) in the impact resistant member is 30-500 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the carbon fibers; and the carbon fibers have an average fiber length of 3-100 mm.

L'invention concerne un élément résistant aux chocs qui est léger et offre un niveau élevé de liberté de forme et une excellente résistance aux chocs. Cet élément résistant aux chocs est composé d'une partie comportant une section transversale ouverte et d'une partie de nervure qui est disposée à l'intérieur de la partie comportant une section transversale ouverte. De la partie comportant une section transversale ouverte et de la partie de nervure, au moins une est faite d'une matière composite renforcée par des fibres de carbone qui contient une résine thermoplastique et l'autre peut être faite d'une résine thermoplastique. Cet élément résistant aux chocs est caractérisé en ce que: la proportion de résine(s) thermoplastique(s) dans l'élément résistant aux chocs est de 30 à 500 parties en masse pour 100 parties en masse de fibres de carbone; et les fibres de carbone ont une longueur moyenne de fibre de 3-100 mm.
