This method for producing an olefin polymer produces an olefin polymer by polymerizing at least one type of α-olefin having 6-20 carbon atoms in the presence of a metallocene catalyst, and by means of diluting the polymerization reaction liquid with a solvent before or at the same time as the deactivation of the catalyst, the liquid viscosity of the polymerization reaction liquid at the time of deactivation is lowered to no greater than 10 mPa·s, and the deactivation deashing of the catalyst is promoted.

Procédé permettant de produire un polymère oléfinique par polymérisation d'au moins un type d'α-oléfine ayant de 6 à 20 atomes de carbone en présence d'un catalyseur de métallocène, et grâce à la dilution du liquide réactionnel de polymérisation avec un solvant avant ou simultanément à la désactivation du catalyseur, la viscosité du liquide réactionnel de polymérisation au moment de la désactivation est abaissée à une valeur égale ou inférieure à 10 mPa·s, et le décendrage par désactivation du catalyseur est favorisé.
