Disclosed is a branched polycarbonate with branches derived from a polyfunctional compound and which includes a branch structure (a) derived from repeated units shown in the general formula (1) and a polyfunctional compound and a branch structure (b) that includes at least one type selected from a group of branched structures shown in the general formulas (2), (3), and (4). The total volume ratio of (a) and (b) to the volume in (1) is 0.2-1.0 mol%, the ratio of the volume of (b) to the total volume of (a) and (b) is 0.1-0.6, and the ratio of the volume of (2) to the volume of (b) is 0.5 min., (wherein the formula, Ar indicates a bivalent aromatic residue and Ar' indicates a trivalent aromatic residue.)
