An adaptor device for a source device by which, when a connection destination is switched, connection time to the switched destination can be shortened. An adaptor device (104) for a source device is provided with a storage unit (206) for storing format information which is information indicating a format of a video signal, a dummy signal generation unit (204) for generating a dummy signal which is a dummy video signal having a format corresponding to the format specified by the format information acquired from the storage unit (206), a control unit (203) for controlling so that the dummy signal generation unit (204) generates a dummy signal when the video signal cannot be acquired from the source device, and a wireless transmission/reception unit (202) for selectively and wirelessly transmitting the video signal and the generated dummy signal.
