Title: FUNCTIONAL FOOD USING FRESH JUICE OR STARCH MADE FROM BORA VALLEY POTATO FOR PATIENTS WITH GASTRITIS, GASTRIC ULCER OR DUODENAL ULCER
Abstract:
The present invention relates to functional foods using the Bora valley potato (Solanum tuberosum L., cv. Bora valley), a new variety of potato, for use in preventing and treating gastric and duodenal ulcers, and more specifically to functional foods using the juice or the starch made from the Bora valley potato as a main or supplementary ingredient, or adding the fresh juice or starch to various favorite foods. According to the present invention, the fresh juice or starch of the Bora valley potato is shown to have significant inhibitory activity against gastritis, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer in various animal experiments, and can therefore be used advantageously in functional foods for preventing and treating gastritis, and gastric or duodenal ulcers
