Provided is an electronic paper comprising two flexible substrates (1 and 2) facing each other, at least one of which is transparent, partitions (4) for partitioning the space between the two flexible substrates into a plurality of cells, and a display medium formed as particle groups and filled into the plural cells, so that the display medium is electrically driven to display information such as an image.  The partitions are constituted of inter-substrate gap retaining members (4-1) arranged continuously between the two flexible substrates, and partition members (4-2) arranged discontinuously with a predetermined spacing between the two flexible substrates.  As a result, a flexible panel structure can be obtained to provide the electronic paper which has a constant inter-substrate gap and a sufficient joint strength.

L'invention concerne un papier électronique comportant deux substrats souples (1 et 2) en vis-à-vis, dont l’un au moins est transparent, des cloisons (4) servant à compartimenter l’espace situé entre les deux substrats souples en une pluralité de cellules, et un support d’affichage se présentant sous la forme de groupes de particules et remplissant la pluralité de cellules, de telle sorte que le support d’affichage soit électriquement piloté pour afficher des informations telles qu’une image. Les cloisons sont constituées d’éléments (4-1) de maintien de l’écartement inter-substrats disposés de façon continue entre les deux substrats souples, et d’éléments (4-2) de cloisons disposés de façon discontinue avec un espacement prédéterminé entre les deux substrats souples. On parvient ainsi à obtenir une structure de panneau souple, qui confère au papier électronique un écartement inter-substrats constant et une résistance suffisante des joints.
