A flexible polyurethane foam is stably produced from raw materials which include a polyol mixture comprising the following polyols (A) and (B) and in which the isocyanate index is 90 or higher and the total amount of zinc and cobalt contained in the polyol mixture is 0.1-200 ppm. The foam thus produced is excellent in flame retardancy, durability, and weatherability despite the nonuse of a flame retardant, changes little in hardness with changing temperature, has excellent air permeability, is reduced in foam shrinkage, and is free from cell unevenness. Polyol (A): a polyether polyol having an average hydroxy group number of 2-3 and a hydroxy value of 10-90 mg-KOH/g obtained by subjecting an alkylene oxide to ring-opening addition polymerization with an initiator using a composite metal cyanide complex catalyst containing zinc and cobalt. Polyol (B): a polyether polyol which has an average hydroxy group number of 2-3 and a hydroxy value of 15-250 mg-KOH/g and which is not a polyether polyol obtained by subjecting an alkylene oxide to ring-opening addition polymerization with an initiator using a composite metal cyanide complex catalyst.

La présente invention concerne une mousse de polyuréthane souple qui est produite de manière stable à partir de produits de départ qui comprennent un mélange de polyols comprenant les polyols (A) et (B) et dont l'indice d'isocyanate est supérieur ou égal à 90 et la quantité totale de zinc et de cobalt contenus dans le mélange de polyols est de 0,1 à 200 ppm. La mousse ainsi produite est excellente en termes de caractère ignifuge, de longévité et de résistance aux intempéries en dépit de la non utilisation d'un agent ignifuge, change peu en termes de dureté avec un changement de température, a une excellente perméabilité à l'air, est réduite en termes de rétrécissement de mousse et est sans irrégularité de cellules. Le polyol (A) est un polyéther polyol ayant un nombre de groupes hydroxy moyen de 2 ou 3 et un indice hydroxy allant de 10 à 90 mg de KOH/g obtenu en soumettant un oxyde d'alkylène à une polymérisation par addition par ouverture de cycle avec un initiateur en utilisant un catalyseur complexe de cyanure de métal composite contenant le zinc et le cobalt. Le polyol (B) est un polyéther polyol ayant un nombre de groupes hydroxy moyen de 2 ou 3 et un indice hydroxy allant de 15 à 250 mg de KOH/g et qui n'est pas un polyéther polyol obtenu en soumettant un oxyde d'alkylène à une polymérisation par addition par ouverture de cycle avec un initiateur en utilisant un catalyseur complexe de cyanure de métal composite.
