A ring-opening polymer hydrogenation product comprising repeating units derived from a norbornene monomer with three or more rings among all the polymer repeating units and having a weight average molecular weight of 500 to 1,000,000 wherein the proportion of racemodiads is 51% or more. There is further provided a process for producing the ring-opening polymer hydrogenation product, comprising the step of conducting a solution polymerization of a norbornene monomer with three or more rings in the presence of, as a polymerization catalyst, a compound of transition metal belonging to Group 6 of the periodic table, such as one having a hydroxyl-having aryloxy group or the like bonded thereto, to thereby obtain a ring-opening polymer and the step of hydrogenating the main-chain double bonds of the ring-opening polymer. Thus, there can be provided a hydrogenation product of tricyclic or higher polycyclic norbornene ring-opening polymer with syndiotactic structure and a process for producing the same.

L'invention concerne un produit d'hydrogénation de polymère à ouverture de cycle norbornène qui comprend des unités de répétition dérivées d'un monomère norbornène, à trois ou plus de trois cycles entre toutes les unités de répétition, de masse moléculaire moyenne comprise entre 500 et 1 000 000. La proportion de racémodyades est supérieure ou égale à 51 %. L'invention concerne également un procédé de production correspondant : polymérisation en solution de monomère norbornène à trois ou plus de trois cycles en présence d'un catalyseur de polymérisation qui est un composé en métal de transition du groupe 6 du tableau périodique, du type à groupe aryloxy avec hydroxyle, ou autre, lui étant lié, pour obtenir un polymère à ouverture de cycle ; puis hydrogénation des liaisons doubles de cycle principal de ce polymère. On réalise ainsi un produit d'hydrogénation de polymère à ouverture de cycle norbornène tricyclique ou polycyclique supérieur, à structure syndiotactique. L'invention concerne à la fois ce produit et son procédé de production.

 本発明は、重合体全繰り返し単位中に3環以上の多環式ノルボルネン系単量体由来の繰り返し単位を含有し、重量平均分子量が500~1,000,000であり、ラセモ・ダイアッドの割合が51%以上である開環重合体水素化物、並びにヒドロキシル基を有するアリールオキシ基等が結合したもの等の周期律表第6族遷移金属化合物を重合触媒として用いて、3環以上の多環式ノルボルネン系単量体を溶液重合して開環重合体を得る工程、及び該開環重合体中の主鎖二重結合を水素化する工程を含む本発明の開環重合体水素化物の製造方法である。本発明によれば、シンジオタクティック構造を有する3環以上のノルボルネン系開環重合体の水素化物、及びその製造方法が提供される。
