A ferrite magnetic material which comprises a composition represented by the empirical formula: AFe2+aFe3+bO27 [wherein 1.1 ≤ a ≤ 2.4, 12.3 ≤ b ≤ 16.1, and A represents at least one element selected from among Sr, Ba and Pb] as a main component and also comprises, as sub-components, a Ca component and a Si component so as to satisfy the formula: CaCO3/SiO2 = 0.5 to 1.38 (mole ratio) when the Ca and Si components are converted to CaCO3 and SiO2, respectively. Incorporation of Ca and Si components into a ferrite magnetic material in such a manner as to satisfy the formula: CaCO3/SiO2 = 0.5 to 1.38 (mole ratio) allows the material to exhibit a high level of coercive force (HcJ) and a high level of remanent magnetic flux density (Br) in combination.

本発明は、組成式:AFe2+ Fe3+ 27(ただし、1.1≦a≦2.4、12.3≦b≦16.1、Aは、Sr、Ba及びPbから選択される少なくとも1種の元素)で表される組成物を主成分とし、副成分としてCa成分をCaCO換算し、Si成分をSiO換算したときにCaCO/SiO=0.5~1.38(モル比)だけ含むことを特徴とするフェライト磁性材料である。CaCO/SiO=0.5~1.38(モル比)とすることにより、保磁力(HcJ)及び残留磁束密度(Br)を高いレベルで兼備させることができる。
