A liquid crystal optical element capable of being provided separately from an object lens and used to correct wave front aberration (mainly coma aberration and spherical aberration), and an optical device using such a liquid crystal optical element. The liquid crystal optical element comprises a first transparent substrate, a second transparent substrate, liquid crystal sealed between the first and second transparent substrates, and an electrode pattern that is used as an area for advancing or delaying the phase of an optical beam and to correct wave front aberration, characterized in that the area is formed to be small relative to the visual field of an object lens so as to practically stay within the range of the visual field of the object lens despite tracking by a tracking means.

L'invention concerne un élément optique à cristaux liquides pouvant être fourni séparément d'une lentille d'objectif et utilisé pour corriger une aberration de surface d'onde (principalement coma et aberration sphérique), et un dispositif optique faisant appel à un tel élément optique à cristaux liquides. Cet élément optique à cristaux liquides comprend un premier substrat transparent, un second substrat transparent, des cristaux liquides renfermés de manière étanche entre le premier et le second substrats transparents, et un motif d'électrode servant de zone pour avancer ou retarder la phase d'un faisceau optique et pour corriger une aberration de surface d'onde, caractérisé en ce que cette zone est formée pour être petite par rapport au champ visuel d'une lentille d'objectif, de sorte à rester pratiquement à l'intérieur de la plage du champ visuel de la lentille d'objectif malgré la poursuite par un moyen de poursuite.

本発明は、対物レンズと別体に設けることができる波面収差(主としてコマ収差及び球面収差)補正用の液晶光学素子及びそのような液晶光学素子を用いた光学装置を提供することを目的とする。本発明に係わる液晶光学素子は、第1の透明基板と、第2の透明基板と、第1及び第2の透明基板の間に封入された液晶と、光ビームの位相を進ませる又は遅らせるための領域であって波面収差を補正するための電極パターンとを有し、領域がトラッキング手段によるトラッキングに拘らず実質的に前記対物レンズの視野の範囲内の留まるように対物レンズの視野に対して小さく形成されていることを特徴とする。
