안전, 또한 저비용으로 저장, 운반할 수 있는 수소 저장 물질을 사용하여, 원하는 속도로 수소를 생성할 수 있는 방법을 제공한다. 본 발명의 실란올 화합물 및 수소의 제조 방법은, 평균 입자 직경이 2.5nm 이하인 금 입자가 히드록시아파타이트에 담지되어 이루어지는 고체 촉매의 존재 하, 히드로실란 화합물과 물을 반응시켜서 실란올 화합물과 수소를 얻는다. 본 발명의 실란올 화합물 및 수소의 제조 방법은, 공기 분위기 하에서 반응을 행하는 것이 바람직하다. 본 발명의 실란올 화합물 및 수소의 제조 방법은, 실질적으로 가열하지 않고 또한 활성 에너지선을 조사하지 않고 반응을 행할 수 있다.
