PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide at least one of a method for producing an AEI-type zeolite having a molar ratio of silica to alumina suitable as a nitrogen oxide reduction catalyst and a carrier thereof through a shorter time of crystallization in a higher yield than a conventional method for producing an AEI-type zeolite not using a crystalline aluminosilicate as a starting raw material, and a method for producing the AEI-type zeolite expected for industrial application.

SOLUTION: A method for producing an AEI-type zeolite comprises a step of hydrothermally treating an amorphous composition containing an amorphous silica source, an amorphous alumina source, an alkali source and water, and then crystallizing a raw material composition obtained by mixing the amorphous composition with an organic structure-directing agent.

【課題】
従来の出発原料として結晶性アルミノシリケートを使用しないAEI型ゼオライトの製造方法と比べ、窒素酸化物還元触媒及びその担体として適したアルミナに対するシリカのモル比、を有するAEI型ゼオライトが、より短時間の結晶化、なおかつ、高い収率で得られ得る製造方法、又は工業的な適用が期待できるAEI型ゼオライトの製造方法、の少なくとも1つを提供する。
【解決手段】
非晶質シリカ源、非晶質アルミナ源、アルカリ源及び水を含む非晶質組成物を水熱処理した後、該非晶質組成物と、有機構造指向剤と、を混合して得られる原料組成物を結晶化する工程、を有することを特徴とするAEI型ゼオライトの製造方法。
