PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocathode, an electron tube, and a method for manufacturing the photocathode, capable of improving productivity.

SOLUTION: A photocathode 1 includes a substrate 100, a ground layer 200 and a photoelectric conversion layer 300. The photoelectric conversion layer 300 is provided over the substrate 100, and generates a photoelectron e- in response to the incidence of incident light hν. The ground layer is provided between the substrate 100 and the photoelectric conversion layer 300. The ground layer 200 contains beryllium. The ground layer 200 has a first ground layer 210 containing a nitride of beryllium.

【解決手段】 光電陰極１は、基板１００と、下地層２００と、光電変換層３００と、を備えている。光電変換層３００は、基板１００上に設けられ、入射光ｈνの入射に応じて光電子ｅ−を発生させる。下地層は、基板１００と光電変換層３００との間に設けられている。下地層２００は、ベリリウムを含む。下地層２００は、ベリリウムの窒化物を含む第１下地層２１０を有する。
