PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an automatic transmission, which can improve the responsibility of a driving force while suppressing the occurrence of a shift shock.

SOLUTION: An ECU is constituted to calculate a target shift time on the basis of an input torque inputted to an automatic transmission, in the case where the ECU is shifted from the current shift stage to a target shift stage spaced by 2 stage or more from the present gear stage. Moreover, the ECU is constituted to switch to an intermediate gear stage between the present gear stage and a target gear stage, in the case where the target shift time is at a predetermined value or higher, and to switch directly to the target shift stage in the case where the target shift time is less than the predetermined value.

【課題】変速ショックの発生を抑制しながら、駆動力の応答性を向上させることが可能な自動変速機の制御装置を提供する。
【解決手段】ECUは、現在の変速段から2段以上離れた目標変速段に変速される場合に、自動変速機に入力される入力トルクに基づいて目標変速時間を算出するように構成されている。そして、ECUは、目標変速時間が所定値以上の場合に、現在の変速段と目標変速段との間の中間変速段に切り替えるとともに、目標変速時間が所定値未満の場合に、目標変速段に直接切り替えるように構成されている。
