PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thrust bearing for hydraulic type continuously variable transmission that prevents damage of a holder due to delay or advance of a ball caused by adding offset load according to an inclination angle of a pump swash plate.

SOLUTION: A thrust bearing 10 includes: an inner ring 12 assembled into a hydraulic type continuously variable transmission 30, and contacting with a piston 35 of a piston chamber 34 of a variable capacity pump 32; an outer ring 14 fixed to a swash plate 37; and a plurality of balls 15 held between the inner ring 12 and the outer ring 14 through a holder. The holder is formed by synthetic resin comprising polyamide 66, and has content of glass fiber of 10 mass% or less.

【課題】ポンプ斜板の傾斜角度に応じ偏荷重が加わり、玉の遅れや進みによる保持器の破損を防止し、長寿命の油圧式無段変速機用スラスト軸受を提供する。
【解決手段】油圧式無段変速機30に組み込まれ、可変容量ポンプ32のピストン室34のピストン35と接触する内輪12と、斜板37に固定される外輪14と、内輪12と外輪14との間に保持器を介して保持される複数の玉15と、を備えるスラスト軸受10であって、保持器がポリアミド66からなる合成樹脂で形成され、且つ、含有されるガラス繊維の含有量を10質量%以下としている。
